At The Hughes Family Wines, we make only two wines per vintage, a Red Blend and a White Blend.

In our vineyard we use our Trilogy approach to farming, where we overlap three recognized philosophies to obtain a balanced approach.
We have built and underground cellar using used shipping containers, natural stones and other materials from our area.
Our soils are red and high in clay content. This produces wines that are dark, dense and masculine. Our mission in life is to tame them a bit a give them more subtle and feminine tones. We achieve this by using whole bunch fermentation, harvesting early and breaking the skins as little as possible.

A natural approach to viticulture and red soils bring forth aromas of bright red berries, with a subtle and fresh acidity complemented by mineral overtones. A warm mouth feel and a gentle finish on soft tannins.

I’ve been a big fan of Nativo since first meeting Billy and tasting the wines when we opened Publik wine bar, not just because the wines are of high quality but because of the sustainable farming methods he employs that go into making the wines more than just delicious, but responsible too.
